Since 2006, as a sign of its commitment to quality and customer satisfaction, Laboratorios Sophia has ISO 9001 certification.
With this initiative, Laboratorios Sophia seeks to maintain a Quality Management System that facilitate innovation, strengthen the links between pharmaceutical development, manufacturing and marketing to meet the requirements of its different customers, as well as regulatory and legal issues.
All of this focused on continuous improvement and operational excellence, always looking after the interest of public health.
Clean Industry Certificate ( Since 2004 )
September 21th 2004 PROFEPA (Federal Attorney for Environmental Protection) awarded Laboratorios Sophia certification as a clean industry, an award that is given to companies who voluntarily undergo a revision scheme, and agree with the authority’s implementation of action plans that enable them to correct deficiencies, improve environmental performance and reduce the impacts and risks on ecosystems, contributing to the harmonious and sustainable development of the country.
We are members of ASILEJ (Association of Clean Industries of the State of Jalisco) and we are in contact with industries committed to the protection of the environment, together we try that our activities guarantee pollution prevention, efficient use of natural resources, 3R, "green manufacturing ".
Socially Responsible Company ( Since 2012)
CEMEFI (Mexican Center for Philanthropy) and the Alliance for Social Responsibility of Companies (AliaRSE) gave to Laboratorios Sophia the "ESR" distinction, which gives recognition to organizations assuming an integrated social responsibility as part of their business strategies and objectives.

Philanthropic Company of the Year 2011
On November, 2011, the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Chapter Guadalajara recognized Laboratorios Sophia as the philanthropic company of 2011 in the context of the 4th. National Philanthropy Day Conference.
7Â° Award in Marketing
On August 5th, 2004, in Guadalajara, Jalisco, the Association of Business Executives and Marketing (Asociación de Dirigentes de Empresas y Mercadotecnia), gave the Seventh Marketing Award to Laboratorios Sophia in the category "Innovation" as a recognition for its career in marketing promotion, innovation and strategic application last year.
Award for Best Performance in Units 2003-2004
On July 9th, 2004, in Cancún, Quintana Roo, during the 59th Annual General Convention of the National Association of Drug Distributors, A.C. (ANADIM, for its Spanish acronym), Laboratorios Sophia was granted an award for obtaining the best evolution index in units sold in 2003-2004 within the Mexican market.
With this award, Laboratorios Sophia proves once again its reputation as leader in the Mexican ophthalmic market.
Award CANIFARMA 2004
On March 29th, 2004, Laboratorios Sophia received the 2004 Award from the National Chamber of the Pharmaceutical Industry (Cámara Nacional de la Industria Farmacéutica or CANIFARMA, for its Spanish acronym) as a recognition for its research work and technological innovation. During the ceremony, the president of the Chamber, Dr. Jose Luis Roman Pumar awarded Laboratorios Sophia a trophy for being a company conducting basic, clinical and technological research in Mexico.
With this award, CANIFARMA proves its support to basic research and technological development of the human use drugs industry. Laboratorios Sophia has devoted much of its efforts to these kind of drugs and stand out as a high potential business.
WIPO Trophy 2003 edition
On December 8th, 2003, the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) awarded Laboratorios Sophia a trophy and certificate that is granted to innovative companies using the intellectual property system and whose invention is of use for the community.
WIPO headquarters are located in Geneva, Switzerland and each year it gives out such a trophy and certificate, this time given to five Mexican companies, including Laboratorios Sophia, which stood out for its registered patents, having its own Research & Development department and entering agreements with different universities and research centers.
The event took place in the premises of the Ministry of Economy, Mexico City, where Mr. Fernando Canales, Mexico's Minister of Economy, handed a medal to Mr. Eleuterio López Sánchez, CEO of Laboratorios Sophia, accompanied representatives of WIPO and Mr. Jorge Amigo Castañeda, CEO of the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property (IMPI.)
The WIPO award to innovative companies grants recognition to Laboratorios Sophia for its application of high technology for the benefit of the ophthalmology industry.
Jalisco Export Award 2002
In November 2002, the Government for the State of Jalisco awarded Laboratorios Sophia the Jalisco Exportation Award, through representation of the Ministry of Economic Promotion and the Mexican Council of West Foreign Trade (Consejo Mexicano de Comercio Exterior de Occidente AC).
The Governor of the State of Jalisco, Francisco Ramírez Acuña, granted the award and a commemorative plaque to the representatives of the International Department of Laboratorios Sophia, which achieve great goals in product exportations.
Edition 2000 National Technology Award
On November 29th, 2000, Laboratorios Sophia earned an important award: the National Technology Award, 2000 edition, the most important recognition in Mexico for organizations distinguished by their technology use and management. For us, it is the recognition of a career of success attained through cutting-edge technologies applied to our products.
During an official ceremony at the official residence “Los Pinos”, President Ernesto Zedillo Ponce de León gave the National Technology Award to Ms. Alejandra Jimenez, on behalf of our Corporate President Arturo Jiménez. Moreover, our colleague Elena Valencia, in representation of her colleagues, received a plaque as recognition of the workers' effort and devotion to the company competitiveness.
